Stephen is a tutor for folk and early music. He has over 25 years experience of one to one music teaching and workshops. He has delivered workshops at festivals in the UK, Europe, USA and Australia.

He has a speciality in helping students to learn to play by ear, including those wanting to make the transition from sight-reading.

His musical career really took off in the 1970s playing for dance and requires additional skills above session playing.
The music for Cotswold Morris is a particular interest and he has made a study of the methods used by historical morris musicians.
Stephen has been teaching on-line since the mid-2000s and is familiar with the Skype, Facebook Messenger, Facetime and Zoom platforms.
