The English Mummers Play

Involved in Mumming Plays since the 1970s and researching them since the 1990s Stephen Rowley founded the Mummers Unconvention in 2011 and the Mummers Symposium.

He has taught mumming on drama degree courses at GlosCat and Bath Spa University and presented talks on the history of mumming at colleges and festivals.

He teaches mumming skills workshops drawing on his research experience and studies of commedia del’arte.

In 2014 he recieved an award for services to classical theatre.
